From the Smoky's to the Rocky's - Another fun trip!

On October 17, 2024 my parents and I embarked on an exciting and adventurous journey to Boulder and Estes Park in Colorado. Our journey began with a 3 hour flight from John Glenn Airport to Denver International Airport. My ears were already popping because of the elevation of the mountains. Once we got off our flight then we took a shuttle bus to the Hertz car rental company. We got in our car and went to our hotel, Embassy Suites. Our hotel was not only huge but they had awesome service. The weather was decent in the late evenings. Once we went for dinner around 7 pm then it started to get chilly.

On Friday we went hiking in Boulder and we saw so many pretty views. The mountains and the fall colors were just so beautiful it’s hard to describe using words. We also went on a drive through the mountains and I literally felt that I was on top of the world! We were so high up on the mountains that we could see almost half of the city of Boulder. Our first stop was at Walker Ranch Loop Trailhead. We hiked about for a mile. The drive on the mountains was amazing. We did another hike at the Chautauqua Trail Overlook. We were exhausted by the end of this hike. On Saturday, my family and I spent most of the day in Estes Park. The park was such a great travel destination. My parents and I went on such a peaceful nature trail around a small resort in the park near the Estes Lake. We got to see some wildlife such as elk and deers. The mountains were even more beautiful in Estes park. We explored downtown Estes park and ate so many sweet items.

The food overall was great! I liked how there were so many different cuisines. On Friday we went to a restaurant called Rosetta Hall. It is like a huge restaurant with small restaurants where you can buy your own food. It seemed very similar our the Columbus North Market. We decided to eat falafel wraps for lunch that day. In the evening we went for some nepalese food. I got to try a new food called momos. They are like dumplings but are most of the time filled with veggies inside. On Saturday for lunch we had Italian food and the pizzas were to die for! In the evening we ended it with some Indian food. There is never a trip where we don’t have Indian food. :-)

For the extra time we had, we relaxed and watched some movies in our hotel room bundled up in blankets together as a family. This trip was such a beautiful experience for me and my family. We had a lot of fun and got to take a break from the busy world in this peaceful place. I really hope we can come back here again sometime and spend even more time and explore more. I will absolutely cherish every moment that I get to spend with my family. This was a great trip after a quarter at school.
